Studio Apartment Bedroom

Hey! If you don’t know me yet, nice to meet you! I studied interior design in college and have been a regular creative director at The Studio Apartment Bedroom for the past few years! I am always here behind the scenes helping with the blog and our other projects. Dreamwork?

I now live in Seattle in my very first apartment of my own. This is an “open-air two-room” (essentially a studio, but with a partial wall separating my bedroom). I have been living here for a little over two years now and I really enjoy having my own space.

Autumn is my favorite season! Tomorrow, on The Inspired Room, we will officially kick off the annual Autumn Nesting episode!

Like hundreds of thousands of others over the past twelve years, my mom’s Autumn Nesting Series inspires me to get ready at home for the coziest time of the year!

Today I want to share with you a quick overview of my studio apartment bedroom and how I recently decorated it with new linen bedding!

My bedroom is open to the rest of the apartment and is one of the first spaces you see when you walk into the house, so I keep the decor simple and streamlined. The neutral palette is perfect for soothing as I walk through the apartment and is a many backdrops for adding layers or seasonal accents throughout the year.

The pom-pom linen quilt has been on my wishlist since I moved into my apartment! When the family business Magic Linen approached my mom to try their bedding, she surprised me by letting me choose the linen bedding of my dreams for my birthday!

I spent a wonderful afternoon on the Magic Linen website, taking inspiration from the gorgeous photos as I considered each color option! I’ve admired the beautiful Magic Linen bedding for years, so buying my own linen bedding really was a dream come true.

They have a variety of gorgeous colors that can be combined with each other to create different looks. I liked the Woodrose color (a dusty pink). They even sell fabric swatches if you want to try them out in your home!

It was so difficult to make a decision because they are all so pretty, but in the end, I opted for the light gray duvet cover and the euro sleeping bags with white bobble trimmings and the optically white bed linen.

Happy birthday to me! I couldn’t wait to get everything home and set up after it arrived a few weeks ago.

I’m super happy with the colors I chose and with how it all looks with the iron bed (the bed belonged to my parents and was given to me when I moved into my apartment). It’s all as cozy and dreamy as I imagined!

I also bought two of the linen and bobble-trimmed neck pillows. I originally wanted to put them on either side of the daybed in my living room, but I love the way this one looks in the middle of my bed.

Magic Linen bed linen is handmade from high-quality European linen. It’s super soft, breathable, and wicks away moisture. It has the most beautiful texture and details and was made with great care. I know I’ll have my kit for a very long time.

One thing I really appreciated was that the duvet cover had straps in the corners to hold the comforter in place! Little things you know

When I was making the bed, I also noticed that my iron bed frame is open so I can see the bobble on the edge of the bedspread! A lucky coincidence.

What I particularly like about my bedroom is that it is flooded with natural light through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the adjoining living room. It’s a very happy and peaceful space!

Now that my bed has been made with such beautiful sheets, I know that this room will be especially comfortable for me all season long.
